Every film begins as a script that has to work with the eyes closed — if it doesn't hold as something you could simply listen to, no amount of beautiful picture will save it. The images are there to underline the story, never to explain it.
And everything for children is made to the same promise: nothing frightening, nothing cynical, one gentle lesson a small child can carry into the next day — and an ending calm enough to fall asleep to.
